There, if only in spirit.

protest

I wish I could attend today’s festivities in Washington D.C.; it is a worthy cause. Do to travel restrictions, mainly of time, money, and this unforeseen start location, I’ll be headed south this weekend instead of North. Into darkest Talibama, I am told. I’ll be visiting with Bacchus and his family.

P.S. I finally dug my camera–usually a source of inspiration–out of the bag.

I prefer southern Alabama. It is really nice down there.

I feel your pain about the protest. For a while there I thought that I may actually be leaving my southern prison here in SC to be a part of something bigger up north in a place that I have never been.

We had about 50 people in front of the federal building in Fargo. It was below zero and I think I nearly froze my feet off. Two news stations showed up and a couple Iraq war veterans were there as well. One guy was stationed at Gitmo and had some interesting stories. Got a couple middle fingers but mainly peace signs and thumbs up from cars passing by

I’m certain he will post about the visit.
It went well. Fred’s taller than me, for some reason I figured he’d have been shorter. go figure. We shot the shit about…alot of things from CIA involvment in the Banana republics (BTW I found the quote Fred) and United Fruit, to our spreading of the democratic message to the world, to the current state of affairs of the Battle of Iraq. Interesting note to Navyswan.
The Advocate actually published something I wrote about religion!!! Truthfully, I can’t wait for all the old fuckers to die, their ancient hatreds will go with them. One should rethink one’s ideas of the South. The youth of the South are full of promise, and vigor (in general though they are apathetic as are their contemporaries) but at least they’re not into the lynching thing, so that’s a start.

If you are both going to be using the same computer while he’s visiting, clear the cookies between posts so that people don’t think Fred is talking about himself in the third person again.

We have remedy the situation, lol. Ed.

Our rally out here in Babylon by the Bay was not very well attended. Maybe 10K? Maybe not. Crappy weather in the 4 hours leading up to the rally.

    Fred:

We had about 1K here in Denver. Don’t despair about missing the event. Frankly, the mass protest is so 20th century. I think the time has come and gone where it would make any difference.

Blogging is the new protest movement, and you have made a great contribution through your writing.

I’m looking for one around 2/15, the four year anniversary of the largest protest ever. They had one here localy, but since I had my kids this weekend, I couldn’t go, as I promised my ex I wouldn’t take them to any protests.
