I don't believe that 2008 is soon enough either, but logistically speaking...what is the fastest we could get out? 6 months, 8 months? 30 days? A year? I really have no idea.

Do it. Doing anything is better than doing nothing.

That said, though, it probably won't get out of the Senate, and if it does it'll get a big fat veto. Or, it will get a signature and a F...ing signing statement saying he can do what he damn well pleases.

Don't blame me. I didn't vote for these bastards.

Actually withdrawal would be much sooner under the "benchmarks" outlined in the bill. So, this time Bush actually needs to accomplish something to keep going. I think the bill does let Bush know that we will no longer tolerate his "dicking" around over there. Both my Rep and Senator are Rethugs first class thanks to gerrymandering, so I don't have any representation.
I did call tho.

That's the crux right there, Mike. As pure an idealist as anyone person might be, even they can acknowledge that cutting funds outright is politically dangerous territory. Equally as dangerous is any other action that could be seen as an endorsement/extension of the war from the Democratic Party.I wish I had CSPAN on infront of me right now...

If they delay long enough, will they suspend funding by default? That works for me.
