The question.

I’ve been extremely busy the last few days. I had a job interview in Rochester yesterday. I’m getting ready to transfer to a different section in the Taskforce (one which will result in allot less blogging), and I’ll be at the range qualifying on a different weapon tomorrow.

So that leaves me with the question. What type of throw away post does one fallback to in this situation? Link drop? Caption contest? Both?

Yes…both, that sounds right.

Hey, I found this commentary on 300 this morning from War Nerd.

It really just destroys the whole movie from a historical perpsective.

Pretty nice “throw away” post, IMHO.

Fade…I read your link. Whatever happened to seeing a movie as just entertainment? This guy waxed poetic on its flaws…okay…so it wasn’t historically correct…what movie really is? I think it actually made his blood pressure go up seeing it and writing about it. I personally was entertained and didn’t take any BS home with me…it was just a movie. I’m thinking he had to toot his own horn more than anything.

I too read the guy’s posting Fade. WHile he is mostly correct, consider the perspective. The man appears to have never been in so much as a slap fight. If it’s true that a politcian that has never felt the effects of living paycheck to paycheck could never be able to represent those that do, then how can such a man write about things he’s only read about in books? He cannot(with any authority) Additionally, as one could surmise from the writings, he’d already made up his mind as to the effect that the film itself is propaganda, as opposed to …I dunno entertainment?
    LOL
Dude probably cried when Kermit got run over by the steam roller. On the plus side he does know his shit, mostly.

Well, the War Nerd perspective is just that- its a geek who pores over military history, is all. I wish i had the link back when we were going over the whole 300 thang and thought it might be of interest as refuting the Neocon crowd who is championing 300′s “patriotic” overtones, not as any rebuttal to the movie itself. I should have been clearer.

Oh and bacchus- IMHO = In My Honest Opinion. Which, I think is a completely useless phrase.

I usually go for an American Idol posting when I run out of things to say.

I think I’m doing three AI posts a day now.

It’s more that there is so much to comment on, and very little time as of late. Speaking of AI, I like Agi’s Idea:
