I got "blocked" responses for a couple of pages from www.china.org.cn, which is the "authorized government portal site to China" run by "the State Council Information Office and the China International Publishing Group in Beijing". If the Chinese government is blocking their own sites to keep their people ignorant of current events, news, political position papers put out by the government, and assorted tourist information, then I propose they are doing a poor job of maintaining the appropriate indoctrination level that a national firewall would seem to be trying to accomplish.
