That’ll be the day.

I’d let this blog die before I did me some cat blogging…

Damn cat likes to sleep under the blanket at the foot of the bed, on my side no less.

Sorry ’bout the low lighting in the pictures. Some cultures hold that the feline species is imbued with supernatural powers. I don’t go for any of that mumbo jumbo, but I damn sure know that cats are vengeful wenches. Best to tread lightly.

I don’t know if this is the end of this blog or not, but in the next month a whole lotta milestones are to come about. Chapters closed and new ones begun and all that. This week I start a new job with a corporation that does a large amount of business with Uncle Sam. Unlike some other companies I’ve looked at, this particular one meets my conscience half way in that they primarily manufacture and develop communications hardware/software. I’m certain, however, blogging during downtime will not be looked upon favorably.

Along with the new job comes the inevitable move, one more in a long line of ‘em. Looking forward to a grand weekend of busting my back humping all my worldly possession around. Not going far, just some place new. Add to this combination my thirtieth birthday and tenth wedding anniversary, and it all adds up to a sense of, “this is it.” No more wondering what I’m going to be when I grow up.

I suppose if I go much farther into things I might start blubbering increasingly incoherent nonsense about this and that…all the memories from the last one and 3/4 years worth of blogging. But fear not, I’m going to rededicate my self to thoughtful commenting at your blog and thought provoking photoshop at Agitprop.

Tschüss

Dinosaur Jr. on Letterman April 30th, heh, just like old times…

I think the second picture adds ten ounces onto the cat, doesn’t do him/her justice.

Good luck moving the feline. Usually they are more violent than a sectional couch.

You KNOW my situation with the cats. They rule the roost, but I am and always will be ALPHA.

Best of luck with the new job and the move. First things first and blog when you can.

  4. Left a short note in the previous post!

Good Luck on everything and have appreciated your help!!!!

Oh, Happy (early) Birthday!!! You’re just a kid! ; )

Would the person using my screen name be so kind as to stop?

    Howdy, Fred.

I hear you about the “what will I be when I grow up” thing. And about perpetual moves.

I am older, and I am still kind of shocked that I am supposed to “be something” by now. I mean I’ve been lots of stuff but it always felt like a prelude. Ouch, huh? It’s like this vocational vista at the end of this road-and I think some of us have been trying to walk slowly and take in the scene before we end up as bench sitters.

OK now about the cat blogging. Why not? Sure, its not very rebellious but there is comfort in some of this crap. Not sure why. Connection?

Damn I missed you Fred! Going away from blogging and coming back gets one thinking. Happy Birthday, and Anniversary. And here’s to a new town!!!

PS Whats with the Agitprop? Tell me that site is changing hands again.

  8. Happy Birthday! Congratulations (I think…) on the new employment opportunity. Don’t worry about “growing up” , though I must admit you’ve got me beat in a few areas…and I’ve got a couple of years on you.

Don’t vanish completely-I enjoy your company.

Often Real Life rears it’s ugly head and demands that we pay it attention. Good luck on the move, the birthday, the new job, the anniversary and any major holidays in the immediate future.

Your presence will be expected again after a suitable amount of necessary down-time.

    *hugs*

  10. Frederick says:

    Jeez..No Dinosaur Jr. fans?

  11. Oh no!
Best of luck on the all the changes in your life. You will be missed, for user.

  12. LewScannon says:

The good thing about cats sleeping on your feet is you can “accidentally” kick them off the bed. At least it’s not your face.

  13. bluegrrrrl says:

I have faith that you won’t let the blog die, Frederick! Once all these changes shake out, you’ll be back. ;) Good luck with the move and new job.

My best birthday ever was #30 (and that was a while ago)…it was also my favorite decade…hope yours is just as amazing…trust me, you never stop wondering what you’re going to be when you grow up. Just when I think I’ve figured it out, a new revelation comes along…

p.s. who’s using your screen name?
p.p.s. I’d ask who’s Dinosaur Jr. but that would tell you how old & out of touch I am…

  14. praguetwin says:

I’m thinking about growing up myself here sometime in the near future.

Once you get to your late 30s, thirty doesn’t seem so old. Enjoy your youth!

Good luck in all of your adventures, especially the marriage.

    Don’t be a stranger!

“No more wondering what I’m going to be when I grow up.” - Frederick

Happy 30th, Frederick, and happy 10th anniversary. But rest assured, the growing-up part never really happens. I’m about twice your age, and I’m still waiting to find out what I’ll be when I grow up. No hurry, really…

If, in the face of all the changes, you do in fact decide to shut down the blog, please do stop by and comment at your friends’ blogs. We’d worry if you didn’t. And besides, admit it: you still have things to say.

Watch out for your back in this next move. Yeah, I know; you look really strong in the pics you’ve posted, but men’s backs don’t last forever, and as best I remember, things start to happen at around age 30…

Take good care, my friend. It’s been a great ride.

Say it ain’t so Fred! You’ve just gotta come back into the fold. You can’t let a little thing like age (heh) 30 do you in now can you? Take some time and settle like the others said…and grace us with your appearance now and again. Thank you for my new template that I still get compliments over. So grateful to you. You come back now here?

  17. Diva Jood says:

Happy birthday, late. And look at it this way: you have five more years of excuses ahead.

As for the blog, I agree with Fallenmonk. When you can. Don’t disappear altogether. Good luck with the new job, and all the changes. DON’T be a stranger.

  18. sumo says:

I was so taken aback that you may quit blogging…I forgot to tell you happy birthday! Enjoy your life Fred…make it a good one.

  19. Your cat is so beautiful!

Good luck with the new job. Very exciting. I understand the pressure of a new job and moving. Please go and do what you need to do and we’ll be here waiting for you when you come back.

I hope you decide to hang around.

  21. Dan says:

Yer fulla crap. You’ve threatened to quit blogging about 17 times in the last year. Never happened.

Spread the word about this if you get a chance.
