Sometime today–if trends continue–I’ll have passed a milestone of some sort. 50,000 visits to the site. It’s not much, in fact it’s quite undersized for over 2 and a half years of blogging and just over 1000 posts. But as all of us here in our little corner of Left Blogistan know, with the shear bulk of depressing topics to deal with day in and day out, along with personnel and professional issues, 24/7 365 blogging is best left to those who do it best. And I’ve taken plenty of breaks. I think this is my longest stretch without a break since I’ve began. In short, thanks to everyone who has shown up, and come again.

Congrats. I think the professional blogger types are often far too full of themselves and after a while, it gets to be an echo chamber, full of nerdy little clicks.
I’ve been kicking around the notion of starting up a “blog network” of under-read and over-good blogs like this one, Virtual Pus, AgitProp, etc. Our logo could be a dude who has a real job.
Anyway, congrats. Milestones are great, especially if they convince you to keep writing.

A good milestone and one to be proud of. All of us “little guys” with actual jobs are in the same boat. I have been at it for a little of 4 years and I am in the same neighborhood of site visits.

Hard to say how many visits I have had since I didn’t get a site meter until a year after starting, but I’m sure it’s no where near 50000. Congratulations!
Isn’t it interesting how people find a blog? I think my post on aspartame is #2 on Google for people who spell it aspertame, which is how most people find it.
