Last night I live blogged the debate with my cohorts over at Guys from Area 51 (see parts I and II). In my opinion Obama clearly won the debate, on the issues and in the confidence projected. McCain managed to not be as whiny as usual, to his credit. Here’s the transcript.

I’d give the slight edge to Obama, but only because McCain had too many negatives. All Obama had to do was remain calm and look presidential, which he did. McCain’s responses were too brisk and poorly timed. He fidgeted while Obama spoke and ruffled papers on his podium. His “you don’t understand” jabs came off as condescending.

Lucky bastards COULD drink and did…at least my wife brought home Thai food…but some of the comments were outstanding.

I tried watching it with my kids, but getting a kid interested in something with out eye popping graphics, stirring theme music and an endless ticker tape on the bottom of the screen is impossible these days.
