Where’s the money Lebowski?

And let us recognize above all the 228 who voted no — the authors of this revolt of the nihilists. They showed the world how much they detest their own leaders and the collected expertise of the Treasury and Fed. They did the momentarily popular thing, and if the country slides into a deep recession, they will have the time and leisure to watch public opinion shift against them. – Revolt of the Nihilists by David Brooks
That’s a funny quote. I like that quote. Not as good as the one he uttered latter in the article, “Now they have once again confused talk radio with reality,” but pretty good. The, “anti-immigration crusade” he refers to with that last one was with out a doubt a statement “that objective morality does not exist.” But to deny that the Bailout was, as George Will so concisely puts it, “A grant of power from the Legislative Branch to the Executive without precedent,” and to characterize the opposition to such a thing as nihilistic, is simply a base ad hominem attack. Not to mention silly.
