The Wall St. Journal has their eye on Huey, Dewey, and Lewy:
That Republicans are coalescing around these three governors is also revealing for who is not included. Several years ago Christie Todd Whitman, former governor of New Jersey and EPA administrator, wrote a book called “It’s My Party Too.” She used that treatise to argue for the party to abandon its conservative roots. Even after two serious GOP drubbings at the polls, she has found no takers. Likewise, Lincoln Chaffee, the former Rhode Island Senator once labeled a “Republican in Name Only,” was still complaining last week to the Washington Post that “right-wing talk show hosts and the Ann Coulters and that ilk” never understood that the GOP needs people like him.
No mention of the Mittster?!

I used to watch Duck Tales. That’s quite the fitting image.

Nothing wrong with Chaffee. I rather like the man. Don’t think the Republicans need him or can use him. He’s the best example of good people making bad decisions and staying with it. He woulda, coulda, shoulda changed parties. Too late. He’s done.

Crist has the same problem as Lindsay Graham. Will the GOP snake handlers really line up behind him?
Palin is the Pat Buchanan of recent memory. She’ll appeal to the nearly Nazi wing of the party, but won’t win a single primary. Except maybe South Carolina.
Jindal? Well, okay. Why not? It’s not as if the Republicans have a history of racism, or that the outgoing Dem governor of the state was a complete fuckup when he was elected. Let’s start rumors now that he’ll take away guns.

We used to have a saying in the Navy about ducks and a coke bottle. I get the distinct impression this will play out about the same.
OT . I am finally back to where I can use Firefox. I am forced to use only V6 of IE at the client I am working at and it doesn’t like your new format. Can’t see what you are or if you are typing anything.
Jindal would come in handy in case anyone becomes possessed by a demon.

Noted, Fallenmonk, and thank you. Unbelievably, almost 25% of the traffic to this site is IE6. I’ve been meaning to get a simulator and figure out how to work around the issue the older browsers have with PNGs.
