Tomorrow Today

tom-tomorrow-farewell-salute

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted a Tom Tomorrow cartoon. Looking back over my archives I see that is something I used to do quite often. Right now I feel kind of how Fallenmonk put it:

Looking around the Internets you see that a lot of other bloggers are writing their farewell posts to the Bush era. I guess there is something worth saying on the changing of the guard and the final departure of the worst President in the history of the Nation but I think I will let everybody else scatter the ashes. A lot of the posts here have been about the injustice, depravity, cowardice, avarice and hate that is the Bush presidency and frankly I don’t feel like writing anymore about it. I have made my opinions and disgust clear enough I think, and there is just no sense in saying it all over again. Let’s just say it was a moral and ethical atrocity and leave it at that.

What I find myself looking forward to now is seeing how everyone from Tom Tomorrow, to Fallenmonk, and in between, handle the New Presidency. That and seeing if I can keep my own cynicism in check, to be unleashed when it’s most appropriate.

Well thanks for the acknowledgment. Let’s all hope we can be more positive and excited about the new administration. As I said in the balance of the post, I am not totally optimistic that we all have the necessary commitment to make the sacrifices necessary to move the country to where it needs to be. I will do my best however, to push and participate where I can.
It is a new day and a new opportunity and most importantly, it might be our last.

The symptoms will be more palatable, but the causes will remain.

I too, will try to put my face in the path of the angry storm. I will sacrifice…….

Wait a minute! I alread y do that! I pay my taxes, so that the lazy in this Country can remain lazy! My stepdaughter is a prime example. She voted for Prez, but only because of some ludicrous promise of another Government check.

We are raising a Country of Welfare Babies. And under this administration, it will go on,..and on,..and on,…………………

    Skeez.

You really think welfare is the problem we have in this country today?

People seem to think that Bush created a lot of these problems on his own, but the truth is that he wouldn’t have been able to accomplish any of it with out help from the compliant corporate media, or key members of the Democratic Party.
