Summer before last…
…the final two Ward Boys died, Roscoe and Lyman. Survived Delbert by a good 9 years. Munnsville, New York is near 50 miles from here, right next door, a world away for some.

The other morning I awoke with the fading memory of a dream. It was a rather odd experience as I rarely remember any of my dreams at all any more. In this dream I was a teenager sitting in my favorite stairwell from high school and playing an acoustic guitar.

Growing up my musical influences were the Salt Creek Show, Willie Nelson/Johnny Cash, and Sergei Prokofiev. As I grew older and reached what is now called the “tween” age I started listening to the local college station and was subsumed in a deluge of new influences, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, The Pixies, Nirvana, Jane’s Addiction, Dinosaur Jr. and so on and so on.
